If you can’t tell, I have a great love of wool. I think it is the most versatile, resilient textile available. It holds its color, it rarely shows dirt, it has a natural stretch allowing for comfort and unrestrained movement, it holds its shape, it can be ironed to look brand new, it’s a renewable resource, it is a natural fiber, it comes in many weaves and levels of softness, it never takes on foul body odors, you can wear it in the mountains, you can wear it with high heels and jewels. Why buy new when you can reuse? Keep it moving, I say!! The upcycled market has been growing year after year and I love being a part of this movement! I believe strongly in supporting local producers of all items we use on a daily basis. When you purchase NeveWear, you are supporting a renewable resource (wool), a local craftsperson (me!) and reusing an otherwise unwanted item. Now don’t you feel even better about your purchase?
Designer Kelle Ronnfeldt grew up in Portland, OR but has been residing in Washington (Port Townsend or the Methow Valley) for the past 25 years. She has been sewing since she was 10 and can always see the potential beauty in a discarded item.
